In autumn 2023, Pivotal was commissioned by Joseph Rowntree Foundation, in partnership with Save the Children NI and Trussell Trust NI, to do a scoping study about how JRF might help address destitution, poverty and economic insecurity in Northern Ireland.

For this study we consulted over 50 organisations (voluntary and community sector, public sector and academia) through 23 interviews and seven themed focus groups, together with reviewing 12 reports about poverty in Northern Ireland. This report for JRF summarises the key findings and recommendations from interviews, focus groups and the literature review.
